An Arizona approach to mental wellness.
Good Dudes specializes in a solution focused approach to mental wellness. That means we will generally create an action oriented plan to help you achieve your treatment goals. I utilize a behavior based approach utilizing ACT, CBT, DBT and REBT that emphasize active participation during and between sessions to maximize the benefit of time spent in session. I emphasize the concept of positive masculinity, but that in no way means it is only for men. We welcome anyone that resonates with this approach to achieving mental wellness. I serve ALL people, ages 18 and up.

Dude….Dude….I’m not here to judge, really, I promise. My goal is to provide you with a safe and confidential space to work through whatever brings you to to counseling. I cast no stones, for I too have done things I came to regret. All we can do is alter the way we think about ourselves in this life, and how we can use our past experience as fuel to do better now and in the future.
The goal of this agency is to promote healthy masculinity for those who prefer viewing the world through a more masculine lens. As such, I lean more toward a behavioral approach to counseling. My primary modality is ACT which focuses on the present moment, mindfulness, and setting goals to move forward in a direction consistent with your values. It is an action oriented approach to facilitating positive change in our lives. By constructing a life where out beliefs, values, and actions are aligned with our goals, we can accomplish so much more than we can by drifting like an abandoned ship, rudderless, getting tossed around by the ocean.
This is an active process and you will find that you get out of it what you are willing to put in. I like to utilize homework between sessions, journaling, bibliotherapy and specific agreed upon tasks outside of session to help facilitate positive changes. I see therapy a lot like going to the gym. If you are consistent and you put in quality work, you will notice more positive change, faster. Some days are harder than others. Some days will leave you feeling sore after. Over time, you will get stronger, you will get more resilient, and you will feel better about the person you see in the mirror each day.
By no means means this is a practice only for men. My great grandmother was a dead-eye with a pistol and a rifle, hunted deer, and drank a lot of original Coors out of a goblet while watching TV. If those aren’t activities society would label masculine, I don’t know what is. She also loved the color green, going to church and hanging lacey curtains. We are all unique beings and different times and circumstances call for different tools and approaches.
If this process resonates with you, I encourage you to reach out and participate in a 15 minute, no obligation, consultation appointment to further discuss our services and your goals.

While newly licensed, I bring nearly 20 years of experience working within the field of behavioral health. After spending most of my time in operations, I decided to return to school to complete my counseling degree. I most recently spent two semesters working with college students from a wide range of cultures, identities and backgrounds.
I am proud to have friends and family that have served or are serving in the U.S. military, law enforcement and emergency response services. I offer a trauma informed approach to treatment and plan to train in providing EMDR treatment in the future. Due to my personal experience watching many of them struggle with their mental health, this is a population I am passionate about supporting.
I am excited to continue my career transition into providing individual counseling services.
